How Does One Obtain A Replacement Passport?

All passports need to be renewed or replaced when they expire or when they get damaged. The expiry date depends on how old you were when you got your last passport. When you got one when you were 15 years or younger, it will expire in five years. Otherwise the document will be effective for 10 years. Replacing a damaged set of documents is like applying for a new one. You will need to be physically present in the acceptance center where you will submit your papers. If you got your last passport more than 15 years ago then it cannot be renewed. You also have to apply for a new one. Mail Submission

The Current Requirements For A New Passport

When your application has been processed, the original, certified copies of documents will be returned to you.

Citizenship Evidence

Evidence is divided into Primary and Secondary. You must provide one type of Primary Evidence of US Citizenship. It can be a valid driver’s license, a current federal identification card or several other types of documents. In order to make sure you have acceptable documentation, check online for a complete listing of allowable items.

Rule Change

The newest change in rules is that birth certificates used as evidence must include the names of the applicant’s parents. Sometimes, when obtaining certified copies of birth certificates, an abbreviated version is sent to the applicant. This will no longer be accepted as evidence of citizenship. They do not replace the documents submitted for Primary Evidence, but must be submitted in addition to them. If submitted alone, they are not sufficient and the application will be rejected.

Application Submission

You must bring Present Identification with you when you submit your application at one of the field offices. This includes a valid state driver license, an official identification card or other accepted forms of ID. You must also bring a copy of both sides of your ID to leave at the office. Bring a photograph of the appropriate size, which will be affixed to the document.

This has resulted in a massive population of animals and plants that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. These are called endemic species. Of all the species found on the island of Madagascar, 80% can only be found there. Out of the 10,000 plant species on the island, 9,000 can only be found there. Additionally, 90% of the 260 species of reptiles are endemic, and 100 of 280 species of plant are endemic. The lemurs – arguably the islands most popular residents – come in 99 different species. Scientists are very interested in the island, and consider it one of the most diverse biodiversity hotspots on the entire planet.

World Heritage

During your visit to Madagascar, you have to stop by the Tsingy de Bemaraha nature preserve. This 330 square mile nature preserve actually earned the distinction of being elected a UNESCO World Heritage location, and it’s considered to be an incredible preserve. What makes it so special are not only the impressive lemur and bird populations, but the scary-yet-beautiful karst limestone formations and the preserved mangrove trees.

Water Activities

Madagascar is an island, so of course the water-based activities are going to be great. It’s a gorgeous island, and the beaches rival any in the world. Surfing is very popular there, thanks to the constant winds and the shape of the island. Taking a kayak out on a tour is one of the best ways to explore the stunning coastal habitats. Deep fishing is also very popular here and huge fish are being caught all the time.
