		<description>When I traveled to Central America several years back, I actually had an official &quot;copy&quot; of my passport made for just such a purpose. If it got stolen, it wasn&#039;t the end of the world. U.S. Passports are hot in Latin America for many of the reasons you post above. Good article.</description>
